Stack and Scare

RAWR! The Stack and Scare collection is the newest and in my opinion the most innovative creation by Uncle Goose. These beautifully designed blocks are available in four unique sets of your favorite monster parts: eyeballs, horns, fangs, teeth, hands, feet and more! This was by far one of my favorite finds from the NY NOW show I visited last August. The mix and match combos are endless and each piece is non-toxic and made in the USA!

Kvadratt

Kvadratt, cardboard cut out cubes, made by polish furniture designer, Grzegorz Cholewiak, can be used in endless combinations to create shelves, tables or hiding places. Best of all its safe for kids. Cholewiak describes his creation as "a simple form allows you to adapt to the needs of using it, stimulates creative thinking... It is lightweight and durable, has a very intriguing texture and is warm to the touch."

Miller Goodman Playshapes

Amazing finds during my NYC trip last week, especially at the MOMA design store. My favorite product was this beautiful box set of 74 geometric wooden blocks made by Miller Goodman, English designers Zoe Miller and David Goodman. These shapes can be combined to create endless possibilities of faces, animals, nature, cars, basically anything you can imagination can conjure up! Watch their awesome animation for ideas....

Silly Bandz

Newest kid craze: Silly bandz... cute silicone die molded bands in endless shapes worn as bracelets on kids everywhere. They've even made a music video about it!

At $5 for a pack of 24, creator Robert Croak says business has grown ten times in the last six months. The original animal bands were used as office supplies. The Japanese creators have been recognized with national design awards and the bands were being sold in limited quantities at the Museum of Modern Art Store. Following its predecessors of Beanie Babies and Pokemon cards, Silly Bandz has been transformed by Croak into this year's must have collectible accessory item for kids.
